SUMMARY:LOTUS ON FIRE
DESCRIPTION:A gathering of women returning to the ancient rhythm of body, blood, earth and fire\n29–31 January 2027\nPlace: Quinta São José dos Montes, Tomar\nThere is a particular quality to this time of year. The earth is quieter, the days are slower, and nature turns inward.\nLotus on Fire is an invitation to enter this rhythm together — to step away from the movement of everyday life and spend a few days in nature, in the company of women, around fire, water, earth and air.\nWe will share space, food, stories, songs, movement, silence and ritual. We will enter the sacred Sweatlodge in the early mornings, give our prayers to the fire, spend time in nature, create with our hands, dance, sing, rest and listen.\nThe elements will accompany us throughout the retreat — not only as something around us, but as part of the experience itself.\nEarth to ground.Water to cleanse.Fire to awaken.Air to move.\nThere will be space to turn inward and meet what is there: the quiet places, the desires, the strength, the tenderness, the things that have been waiting for our attention.\nAnd there will be space to share this with other women.\nTo sit together. To witness and be witnessed. To listen to another woman’s story. To laugh, sing, dance, eat and rest together. To let the circle become a place of belonging.\nWe each arrive with our own lives, our own bodies, our own experiences and our own ways of being. There is something beautiful in bringing all of this into one space and allowing the differences to be part of the circle.\nWe will also make space for the feminine cycle and our relationship with menstrual blood, approaching it as a natural part of our bodies, our cycles and our connection with the Earth.\nThe lotus grows from the mud, reaching through water towards the light. And yet its roots remain in the earth.\nThe fire of the lotus is the part that continues to burn while we turn inward.\nThe name Lotus on Fire came from our first retreat, when heavy rain surrounded the sweat lodge fire and the fire continued to burn. Looking at the flames rising from the water, the image of a lotus came naturally.\nThis time, we return to the fire.\nWe will share:\n• Two early morning sacred Sweatlodge ceremonies• Fire and water rituals• Singing and dancing• Prayer and meditation• Time in nature• Creative expression & artwork• Sharing in the women’s circle• Silence and inward exploration• Nourishing vegan meals\nWhat to bring:\n• Comfortable clothes for movement and ritual — and your prettiest one• Towels that can get dirty• Warm clothes for the evenings• Clothes made of natural materials suitable for the Sweatlodge• A personal object or piece of clothing that has meaning for you• Anything you would like to bring to the fire as an offering• If possible, menstrual blood, collected before, otherwise a beautiful red rose\nCheck-in: 29th January (Friday) 15h00Check-out: 31st January (Sunday) 14h00\nContribution: 320€, including the retreat, all meals and accommodation in camping.\nFor alternative accommodation options, please contact us to inquire about availability.\nSpaces are limited, to preserve the depth and intimacy of the circle.
