Retreat – Holotropic Breathing®

• Residential Retreat •

Holotropic Breathing®

Back

In these retreats, we experience the universe of holotropic breathing. A method created by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, co-founder of Transpersonal Psychology, based on the exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness. It is highly experiential and effective, allowing the activation of inner wisdom and self-regulation mechanism. It combines breathing sessions, relaxation, music, bodywork, art therapy and group dynamics.

This method allows accessing deep and different experiences such as the reliving of aspects of our biography, eventually unresolved, perinatal memories related to the birth process and transpersonal or transcendental experiences, which are beyond the limits of the body and personality.

These experiences have immense transformative potential, and can generate major and lasting emotional and psychological changes in people’s lives.

In general, these experiences help us to unlock very deep tensions and to experience different states that will allow us to discover our inner potential and help to transform us, in this way, into a fuller, clearer, more complete person.

Retreat Description

Holotropic breathing sessions are held, with participants having experiences as a breather and as a sitter. Throughout the retreat, various dynamics are created that prepare people for the breathwork sessions, as well as different integration activities through the creation of mandalas, sound healing and other forms of art therapy.

In these residential retreats, these experiences are done in pairs, alternating the roles of sitter and breather, which are duly explained before the retreat. A lecture is also given before the experiences begin so that participants are aware of the depth they can access in these experiences.

At the end of the sessions, art therapy is a form of integration, through the creation of mandalas where each participant must represent their experience. Another recurring form is soul collage, which is the use of images from magazines that are cut and pasted into these same mandalas, thus also representing the experience of each participant. Sharing experiences is also part of the integration of this process.

To whom

To anyone interested in this method of development, healing and self-knowledge. No prior experience is required. There are some contraindications that should be evaluated before performing the retreat. It is contraindicated for people with vascular and cardiovascular diseases, severe hypertension, glaucoma, diabetes, acute infectious diseases, recent surgeries, complicated mental illnesses, epilepsy and pregnancy. However, each person must be evaluated individually.

Retreat – Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System®

Biodynamic Breathwork and
Trauma Release System®

Back

BBTRS® or Biodynamic Breathwork is a body work that includes breathwork sessions, meditation, music, bioenergetic exercises and specific and innovative body work using a ball.

Breathwork sessions are the pillar of this therapy, allowing a huge release of tensions and repressed emotions and the development of body awareness. Breathing with a ball of its own frees us from various accumulated tensions, which we are often unaware of, but which block and close our body. When we massage ourselves with the ball and breathe deeply, the memories that the body holds can arise and in this way be discharged and dissipate its tension.

In general, biodynamic breathwork helps us to release deep tensions, to be more creative and to become more satisfied with life, to develop a greater capacity to be present and centered in ourselves and to resist less to the difficulties of our life.

Retreat Description

It is an experiential retreat in which breathwork is the fundamental pillar. Dance, bioenergetic exercises, meditation and bodywork are other components of this retreat. There are always integration dynamics, through sharing, meditations and group dynamics.

To whom

To anyone interested in this method of development, healing and self-knowledge. No prior experience is required.

Meditation and Silence

Back

Retreat Description

We experience different techniques and methods that help us to make the present moment conscious through silence. There will be silent meditations, yoga, conscious breathwork, vocalization of mantras, guided meditations in movement, nature walks, dance.

In these retreats we always keep silence at all times, inside and outside the practices, we only give instructions at the beginning of the activities, but we remain silent at the rest of the moments. If you feel you are ready to accept this challenge of silencing words and mind, join us.

You will understand how silence infects us with peace and tranquility. You will take with you numerous tools to be able to meditate alone or in other groups.

The individual practice of meditation is essential, however, when we meditate in a group, we are able to create an even greater synergy that further enhances its purpose.

Activates dormant brain regions, helps rejuvenate brain and biological health. It improves self-esteem, mood, gives us more clarity, concentration and focus.

The practice of meditation is very old, dating back to Eastern traditions. There are different philosophies, ways, methods and techniques. Some examples are transcendental meditation, active meditations, vipassana, mindfulness, prayer, Zen meditation, Taoist, Buddhist, etc. The paths of meditation are numerous, but the purpose is just one: to be present, to empty the mind, to enter a state of non-agitation and alertness in the moment and in silence.

To whom

To all those who are in the process of development, who want to calm their minds, reduce levels of stress and anxiety in their lives, who want to become more centered, concentrated and attentive internally and also to what is going on around them in order to make better choices in your life.

Workshop – Trance Dance®

Trance Dance®

Back

Trance Dance is a process that takes us on an inner journey through body movement, dynamic percussive rhythms, specific breathwork and the innovative use of a blindfold that stimulates a trance state, or a non-ordinary state of consciousness. It also promotes a person’s general well-being, greater physical and emotional stamina, and greater mental clarity.

For thousands of years dance has been an integral part of how we can maintain and grow our relationship with the Earth. Furthermore, dance was a gateway to the soul or spirit. Dancing, in a trance state, allowed the person to fully connect to the healing power of the spirit, to what Stanislav Grof calls the internal healer, to the principle of internal self-regulation. It is from these shamanic perspectives that we approach the experience of Trance Dance.

In this process, we are guided by a Trainer properly trained by the Trance Dance Community who will cover and explain all aspects of this ritual.

Workshop – Drum Building

Drum Building

Back

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn how to build your own shamanic drum.

We honor these animal skins that after their experience on this planet are recovered and with all respect and integrity are used for the realization of this sacred tool that is the shamanic drum.

This is an object of ancestral power, considered by some cultures, the shaman’s horse, for allowing him to “Ascend to Heaven” and also to take him to the “Center of the World”. The drum thus makes the communication between Heaven and Earth. The drum is also used to connect with our power animal.

The drum beat, through the intention used, can help in the healing and cleansing processes of the human being. Currently, science is interested in the benefits of drum beats and discovers that they allow you to change the hertz frequencies from Beta to Alpha and Theta, thus allowing you to make internal journeys and access Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness.

You will learn with your own hands how to prepare the skin, the most suitable skin types and their functions. You will learn how to use the strings to weave the drumhead and how to shape it properly, as well as the drying process for the drumhead. It will also perform the drum stop, through the selected materials.

All participants will have the facilitator’s personalized support for the drumming.

We use wooden hoops with 30cm, 40cm or 50cm in diameter and natural animal skin (goat).

Workshop – Temazkal

Temazkal

Back

Temazcal is an indigenous ritual, also known as Sweatlodge, Inipi or Cabana de Suor, depending on the tradition, ceremonies that have been practiced by countless cultures around the world. It helps us mainly in purifying our body, unclogging the pores of the skin, dilating blood vessels, eliminating toxins and improving the respiratory and immune system, but it also provides us with great internal relaxation.

These ceremonies represent the womb of Mother Earth, where heated stones are placed in a fire outside the tent, later taken inside, sprinkled with water and medicinal herbs, creating water vapor. During the ritual, participants sing songs, play drums or other instruments and perform some prayers that help them to deepen and remain in these ceremonies.
